According to the cyber-security firm FireEyes Labs, a new fraud is targeting users of the Netflix streaming site.
Site subscribers receive an email asking them to update their account information. A link redirects web users to a page that resembles Netflix’s access page.
The fraudsters thus collect the personal information of their victims, such as their name, address, credit card number and social insurance.
On the official website of Netflix, however, it is mentioned that the company will never ask for personal information via a simple e-mail, such as credit card information, social insurance number or password. The company also suggests sending any suspicious emails to phishing@netflix.com.
